Retail Assistant with Keyholder Responsibility

Job Requirements and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Branch Manager, the Retail Assistant’s role is to provide assistance and excellent customer service to the customers of Heaven Sends’ store, Magical Story, and other retail initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Core Duties
•       To ensure the smooth running of the store, and maintaining the shop standards by:
•       Participating in the day to day running of the store
•       Keeping the store and displays clean and tidy at all times.
•       Operating the till and accurately handling cash and credit/debit cards
•       Assist and maintain merchandising of the store to a high standard.
•       Receiving deliveries, unpacking, pricing, and re-shelving or storing stock
•       Assist with regular stock checks and annual stock takes.
•       Ensuring all fire exits and escape routes are kept free from obstruction.
•       Being vigilant at all times and to help minimise stock loss.
•       Accurate use of Shopify POS

Customer Service
•       To ensure that excellent customer service is demonstrated at all times.
•       Developing a good knowledge of stock, ensuring that customers are informed about the goods that they have purchased.
•       Informing the public about the goods on show in the store
•       Take orders from customers, whether in person or received by phone or email.
•       Respond to general customer enquiries received by phone or email.

General
•       Ensure any issues concerning customer care are reported to the Branch Manager
•       Adhere to company standard of presentation for dress.
•       Ensure all Health and Safety procedures are effectively carried out and report any concerns to the Branch Manager
•       Work as part of a team with the other members of retail staff, be aware of what is happening in the rest of the store and assist the public wherever possible.
•       Contribute to the continuing development of Magical Story
•       Contribute to the identification of departmental objectives for the short term, medium and long-term.

Keyholder Requirements
•       As a store keyholder, you may be required to either open or close the store, and act as the senior point of contact on site for part of some of your shifts.
•       You will be responsible for ensuring the security & safety of the store before and after opening times on these shifts.
•       You will be responsible for contacting Senior Management in the event of a query, issue or emergency.
•       During hours where you are the senior staff member, you will be paid an uplifted rate to reflect this increased responsibility.
