The local community is a very important part of Touchwood and we are extremely proud of the partnerships we have established since opening in 2001.

Touchwood has a strong presence within the community. We continually  seek to offer our support for key activities within the borough of Solihull.

We have established an ongoing relationship with local Rotary groups. Each year Touchwood stages the launch of the Solihull Festival which helps raise funds for nominated charities across the borough.

Our staff work closely with the West Midlands Ambulance Service. The defibrillator training programme for our staff has been instrumental in saving the lives of three of our guests.

We enjoy strong relationships with local schools in the borough, encouraging them to perform in the centre at key times of the year including the St Georges Day Parade and the annual Christmas Choir Competition. We also support key calendar events such as Children’s National Book Week.

At Touchwood we are focussed on safety and security and we work with all of our retailers to operate a Child Safe programme  across the centre.

Since opening, the staff at Touchwood have regularly participated in annual  ‘Community Days' when teams from within the centre devote their time to  assist with local causes such as refurbishing buildings and gardens.
In the future we will continue to share the many opportunities created by Touchwood with our local community, further strengthening the bonds that exist.

Other community services offered by Touchwood include:

  • A Chaplaincy service for consultation and support.
  • A Quiet Room which is a space designed for personal reflection, meditation or prayer.
  • Community Rooms for local groups to stage meetings.
